Humble Beginnings
In a letter dated August 1962, Ms. Charlotte Kehm (then the Dean of Girls) wrote to Mr. Albert Geselbracht, Norwood High School principal: "I have signed a new will. My entire teacher's retirement deposits will be payable to a Norwood High School Scholarship Foundation Faculty Memorial Fund." She further asked that her name not be used in the title.
To carry out her wishes, the Norwood High School Faculty Memorial Scholarship Foundation was formed on September 11, 1962, and incorporated in the State of Ohio under the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code as a non-profit organization. Since that time, the Scholarship Foundation has been the recipient of many donations from faculty, families, students, alumni and community organizations. |
"Thank you for giving me resources to begin my college journey. Education means so much to me and my family. "
- G. Murray, Norwood Alumni
